So a few hours ago we finished up the Vision Mini-general session where we talked about some of the new things that are on the horizon. So for those that were not able to make the trip to Nashville, no worries, we wanted to give you the highlights.
One of the key things we have heard from you our Vision Customers is smaller releases, faster releases to deliver new features we would like to see faster. We heard you! We will be working to do a better job with that moving forward. 6.2 is a good example. With some of the initial feedback we got from all of the organizations that are using Connect for Microsoft Outlook, you were looking for a way to make on boarding people easier so you could deploy it faster across the organization. We we are delivering new on boarding tool that will help you get people using it even faster. You know the problem, 20 people all have the same contact in their Outlook Contact Folder. What happens when all 20 people then sync with Vision? How are those duplicates handled? So we added a tool that helps users deal with those duplicates during initial setup. There several other enhancements you were looking for with Connect for Microsoft Outlook that are being delivered with 6.2 which is due out shortly.
Vision 7 (Europa)
At last years insight we gave a sneak peak at some of the prototypes for Vision Europa and this year we were much further along in development and able to share with everyone the working product and some of the powerful enhancements like User Defined Info Centers (build your own Info Center and use it for … whatever.) Many organizations are already talking about how they will use this to start to track information that they never thought they would be able to track in Vision. As more and more firms are doing business globally, we heard you and have increased the international capability making it even easier to manage your business no matter where you do business. Finally we highlighted the enhancements to Vision Performance Management that extend these powerful dashboards even further with more out of the box dashboards and the ability to leverage user defined fields in dashboards.
You asked for it and we are delivering. More and more of your organization work from their mobile devices in the field and the ability to get information on the device is key. So we showed how dashboards can be accessed from mobile devices like iPhones and iPads today and our work towards a mobile timecard solution that we have been showing people on devices here at Insight (sorry no pictures of that yet, special treat for those here.) But for those of you that have been wondering what the mobile solution was, it is here.
Lots of buzz and great discussions on how to to get the most out of their tools and how other firms are doing innovative things. Did you know that 49 of the 80 Deltek Vision breakouts are delivered by non-Deltek people sharing best practices and tips to other users? I think that is one of the things that I enjoy about Insight.
