Engineering firms outsourcing business functions

Check out the July/August issue of ACEC’s magazine Engineering Inc. (page 34) and the article titled “Insights of Outsourcing.”

Author Bob Woods looks at the growing number of engineering firms that are outsourcing business functions, including IT and accounting.  Why?

To summarize the points made, it’s because accounting, IT, HR, marketing and other non-design functions are important to a firm’s success.  And if an architect or engineer is trying to do any of those part-time, not only are they not being billable but it’s not their expertise!

This is exactly why Deltek created Deltek First Vision Essentials – the same powerful functionality of Deltek Vision delivered via the cloud. No upfront capital expenses, no servers to buy or hardware to manage, and a level of accessibility and security that any on-site IT department would be hard-pressed to match.
